From my experience and after completing the course, I can say the following.
The content of this course is great. It is suitable for both those who have no previous programming experience and those who have programming experience and just want to learn more about web development, like me.
Of course, as it is an online platform, the student must adapt to it and accept that the course is prepared to reach a large number of people. You should not assume the course will be tailor-made for you.
The Code Institute team is great, supporting anything you ask, as long as you follow the rules. You just need to take your learning experience seriously and get in touch immediately whenever you have any difficulties.
The rules are pretty clear. You must read and follow them, respecting the deadlines and contacting the Code Institute to temporarily block your access and postpone your deadlines, if there is any personal or professional situation preventing you from studying and progressing in the course, so that you have time to successfully complete the course after this situation is resolved.
My learning experience with Code Institute was very pleasant. I look forward to applying what I learned and continuing to learn.

I started with basic knowledge of HTML and CSS and learned a lot about web development and feel definitely job-ready.
Things which can be improved:
Since it is a very personal experience and it very much depends on everyone's self, I still think that the BootCamp can be a bit more intense. Sometimes there was a bit too much free time between the classes. This time could have been used to dive into details or to teach additional technologies.
But nonetheless, I would definitely come for another BootCamp to Spiced as every Teacher is such a cool person!

If you don't set aside enough time to study, practice, and work through the materials outside of class, you could get lost pretty quickly.Even as someone with a strong science background and a fair amount of experience with Excel and coding in Python, I'm gaining a deeper understanding of the python language, learned how to use Excel more efficiently, and had a much needed review on statistical analysis. I really look forward to the material covered later in the course as we will cover more advanced Python skills and dive into more tools and software specific to data science and machine learning.Lectures/Labs and office hours are held over zoom and are recorded, which has worked out wonderfully. Lectures/Labs have been a healthy mix of covering course content and working on assignments as a class and in breakout groups. Additionally, a Slack channel is set up so you can connect with and collaborate with classmates and reach out to the instructors.Instructors:I really appreciate the instructors. They are very encouraging, helpful, and respectful of everyone. They seem to understand that there are several different learning styles, and use different teaching resources to utilize them. Links to these resources are shared when possible too!Curriculum:The curriculum is challenging, extensive, and fast-paced. There is A LOT to learn when it comes to python, especially if you are new to coding. The best way to learn to code is through practice. In class, you get introduced to important concepts, shown examples, and become familiar with the documentation and other really useful resources. Use them. Before joining Hackbright, the world of tech and coding seemed formidable, like a mountain too steep to climb. The thought of switching careers and learning an entirely new discipline was daunting, but with the outcomes and learning teams I feel heaps better than I would've if I was simply a CS graduate coming out of school.
The career support from Outcomes was nothing short of phenomenal. They guided us on how to navigate the tech industry. They provided resources for job searching, resume building, interview preparation, and even salary negotiation. Even after graduation, the support continues, making me feel that Hackbright is commited to my long-term success.
I would also like to take a moment to appreciate the exceptional instructors (Jared & Drue). Overall, the bootcamp is great - you learn a lot in a short amount of time. I would recommend a bootcamp if you are in a hurry to change careers. That being said, LHL is not responsible for the overarching job market / economic climate. When I graduated every tech giant was doing mass layoffs. Bear that in mind before making a decision. Nothing is guaranteed. After a total of 8 months (which includes 3months of bootcamp) i finally landed a junior dev role. And I was lucky. That being said, the support from career services was good. They help where they can. If I were to use an analogy: they are a passenger in the car you are driving. Is it worth the money? I'm not sure. I think that they do a lot of behind-the-scenes work that indirectly benefited me.... Read Less
Overall, if you are passionate about tech and want to start your career, give it a go. Life is too short.
For curriculum I would prefer not spending a week on Ruby. I think the curriculum would be better served with an extra week with React or learning Typescript. Pivoting out of Javascript for a week didn't feel worth it to me. On top of that none of the TAs who picked up my request-tickets knew the language. I worked in software test automation before I decided to take this bootcamp full stack development course.
My previous coding experience helped me to scale up and transition easily to understand the development course.
My favourite aspects of the UofT SCS Coding Boot Camp Online program are
1. Well crafted the course design and modules are examples: The gradual introduction of concepts and the building of larger concepts upon smaller ones is an effective teaching method that allows for better comprehension and understanding.
2. The weekly challenges also seem to have played a significant role in keeping you engaged and motivated throughout the course, as they provided opportunities to apply your knowledge and create your own projects.
3. In class: The hands-on approach during class, where the tutor explains concepts and allows for immediate practical application, is undoubtedly beneficial for better understanding and the ability to clarify any doubts on the spot.
My advice to prospective students will be to have a passion for development, embracing challenges, and dedicating extra study time outside of class hours are crucial for making the most of the course. My own experience of completing numerous projects in different topics speaks to the effectiveness of this approach.The bootcamp instilled great confidence to take up development work later.

successful. But the moment I started reading Launch School materials was the moment my
studies started building towards something bigger. “This process will take longer than you
want it to, but if you take your time and do things the right way, it will be worth it.” It was a
message I didn’t really want to hear after I had already put a year into the effort, but a
message I knew that I needed to hear anyway. No other course I had tried was stating this
truth so clearly and honestly. I knew up front that the first two or three months of Launch
School would cover material that I already knew well, and I would feel a bit frustrated at
first about “starting over”. Nevertheless, I jumped in right away, with the realistic
expectation that it might take another two years or more before I could accept a job offer.
Friends and family were incredulous when I shared my excitement about this program, but
there was no reason for me not to be hopeful. The pedagogy–starting from the ground up,
building mastery of fundamentals, verifying the knowledge of students before allowing
them to continue, and slowly building confidence through that verification–made all the
sense in the world to me. And Launch School had the results to back up their claims, not only
with numbers, but with real people. Engineers with credentials, people who had been
through the process and were now working for amazing companies, were hanging around
in the chat channels, answering questions and talking about their work. I trusted the
process from the beginning because I was convinced that everything about Launch School
was genuine.
To make a long story short, the process worked. The Core Curriculum taught me the
fundamental concepts I needed, and at my own part-time pace. Capstone extended and
integrated that knowledge by cultivating it in a dedicated, full-time, team-based
environment. Working every day with other students, and with program graduates as
mentors, I was able to learn interviewing skills and contribute to the development of an
amazing product. I began to feel proficient. Capstone prepared me so well for the hiring
process that, once I finally started interviewing, I was full of confidence, and there were no
surprises. I knew I belonged in those hiring pools because Capstone had given me the
preparation I needed.
After finishing Capstone, I secured a job as a Senior Software Engineer within six weeks,
with essentially the Capstone average salary–a higher salary that I had originally hoped for.
Now it’s been a year since I graduated. I’m at a company where I love to work, and I’m able
to jump into any task or project that interests me and find my way thanks to my strong
background in the fundamentals. I work at a company that supports continuing education,
gives me a voice in what projects I work on, and has a clear path to promotion and career
development. My family is able to buy a new house. And honestly, this is all thanks to Launch
School. I was nowhere close to making this kind of progress after a year of self-study. But
after less than two years in Launch School, I had everything that I needed to get a great job
as an engineer and build a lifelong career. The same has been true for many others, and I
would recommend Launch School, the Core Curriculum and Capstone, as an excellent
choice for anyone who is interested in starting a career in software engineering.

I really appreciated the intimate class size which allowed our vastly knowledgeable instructors to give detailed feedback and mentoring. The pacing of the curriculum was perfect, and the assessments given each weekend really solidified what I learned throughout each week. The internship opportunity they give towards the end of the cohort accurately emulates an agile methodology workflow that is common in the tech industry, and due to this, I felt very prepared and comfortable in the pacing of my current job.
Rithm also has a very close and strong alumni network to help with the job hunt after graduating. Some of these alums also participate in a mentorship program every cohort to provide advice and accountability to the students. Overall, you can just tell that instructors, alums, and other staff members are really for you and want to see you succeed. They will help in any way they can, and you can feel rest assured in them.
